Developer Relations Lead | DigitalGlobe
He goes around and shows off all the great work the DigitalGlobe engineers do. He started as a developer advocate back in 2005 and has led all phases of developer relations activity. He has spoken at over 100 conferences and done over 50 workshops including Monktoberfest, MongoNY, JavaOne, FOSS4G, CTIA, AjaxWorld, GeoWeb, Where2.0, and OSCON. Before DigitalGlobe, Steve was a developer evangelist for Red Hat, LinkedIn, deCarta, and ESRI. Steve has a Ph.D. in Ecology from University of Connecticut. He can easily be bribed with offers of bird watching or fly fishing.
We all know the primary goal for developer relations is 'making developers successful and happy on our platform/project/product'.
But maybe not all of you have heard of Kathy Sierra and her Kick Ass Curve. Way back when, Kathy was a blogging force for good in the world of developer relations. This session will introduce the curve and how it provides a great model to focus your developer relations efforts.
By going through the curve together you will leave with a better understanding of where to apply your effort and why you should prioritize some tasks over others. Print out the graph and put it on your wall - Learn It, Know It, Live It.
